About Grain and Guidance
Grain and Guidance NFP is a Greater Peoria area-based 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty. We provide a holistic solution to food insecurity, financial and career instability by removing the barriers of cost and bridging the gap. We meet our neighbors exactly where they are, bringing nourishment, education, and dignity directly.
Grain and Guidance is building a visible infrastructure for change. By combining the use of Masonic Lodge kitchens with modern mobile outreach, we are creating a scalable solution to poverty. Whether it is a hot meal, a career roadmap, an attainable financial plan, or a birthday cake, we ensure no neighbor is left behind in the journey from survival to success

Our mission
To bridge the gap from crisis to stability for the East Peoria and Greater Peoria community through mobile nourishment and professional empowerment. By utilizing Masonic Lodge commercial kitchens and a custom relief unit, we remove barriers to high-quality food and “Success Path” financial coaching. Our holistic approach restores dignity to foster youth and provides the educational tools necessary for long-term independence, moving neighbors from survival to self-sufficiency.

We envision a future where no neighbor is left behind due to a lack of transportation, financial literacy, or emotional support. By bridging the gap between immediate crisis and long-term independence, we seek to establish an infrastructure that delivers high-quality nourishment from Masonic Lodge kitchens, professional “Success Path” coaching, and the dignity of celebration for every child in crisis. Our goal is to move beyond temporary relief, fostering a resilient Central Illinois where every family has the tools to move from survival mode to thriving self-sufficiency.

What we Do
Our primary causes
Grain and Guidance NFP is dedicated to three primary causes in the Greater Peoria area: Mobile Hunger Relief, Financial Empowerment, and Foster Youth Dignity. By utilizing Masonic Lodge commercial kitchens and a custom mobile unit, we provide high-quality “Square Meals” to neighborhoods facing transportation barriers. Beyond immediate relief, our “Success Path” coaching equips residents with the financial literacy and career tools needed for long-term independence. Finally, we restore joy to children in crisis through our “Icing on the Cake” program, ensuring every foster child is celebrated with a custom birthday cake.
